By Annastasia Theodoropoulos The Pike County Council of Republican Women (PCCRW) brought members together for a successful and well-attended August Member Meeting on Wednesday, August 12, at the Apple Valley Restaurant. With membership having surged 62 percent, there was plenty to celebrate. The gathering offered a warm blend of fellowship, fine dining, and insightful political discussion that underscored the group’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Republican values across the region. Deborah Fischer, President of the PCCRW, and her executive board welcomed guests, including Matamoras Mayor Cory Homer and his wife Tiffany, as well as Blooming Grove Township Supervisor Tim Morey and his wife Danielle. Other attendees included female elected officials such as the Recorder of Deeds, Prothonotary, Auditors, Judges of Elections, GOP Committee members, and more. The evening’s highlight was guest speaker Danica Hartenfels, the Republican candidate for Pennsylvania State Representative in the 189th District. Members had the opportunity to meet Hartenfels, hear her perspective on key issues facing the district, and engage directly with a candidate working to advance common-sense principles at the state level. Her appearance provided both inspiration and practical insight for attendees focused on local and statewide advocacy. Guests selected from a thoughtful menu of entrées—Fish & Chips, Turkey Pot Pie, or Pappardelle Pasta Bolognese—accompanied by a salad with choice of dressing and a classic Crème Brulé for dessert. The comfortable setting of the Apple Valley Restaurant created an ideal backdrop for conversation and connection among members. Organizers, led by contacts such as Theresa Brown, carefully planned the successful event. The PCCRW, established in 1949, continues its long tradition of fostering community and political engagement, as reflected in its motto: “Working to keep Pike County Republican Strong!” All are encouraged to become members, and current members are invited to stay connected through the group’s Facebook page, The Pike County Council of Republican Women, and via email at pikecountyrepublicanwomen@gmail.com. The August 2026 meeting served as another strong example of the PCCRW’s dedication to informed activism, candidate support, and building a vibrant Republican presence in Pike County.

At a recent local event, Danica had the opportunity to introduce herself and share a bit about who she is with members of the community. Moments like this matter. They are a chance to connect face-to-face, listen, and be present with the people she hopes to represent. If you were there, thank you for the warm welcome. If not, you can watch her introduction below to get a sense of who she is and what she stands for.
